It was the end of summer break, after my graduation, that I received an offer for an internship at Power Move Marketing. I had been looking for an opportunity to navigate my marketing career, as I was still unsure about which path to take. Choosing Power Move Marketing turned out to be the best decision.

Communicating regularly is important for a successful internship experience. During my internship, I consistently reached out to my Account Managers to discuss their expectations and adjust my work based on their feedback. These regular conversations helped me improve my skills, avoid misunderstandings, and deliver better results. Exploring different tasks helps you grow your skills and learn about yourself. Interning at Power Move Marketing allowed me to work with a diverse set of clients and projects. By working on various projects, I learned about different industries, which helped me discover the ones I am most drawn to, an insight that will be valuable for my future career opportunities. The start of a career can be very confusing, but this internship helped clear the clouds of confusion while allowing me to continuously grow my skills.
Quality Is More Important Than Quantity
At the start of my internship, I assumed that quantity mattered more in digital marketing. However, I eventually learned that while reaching out to more people is important, standing out with high-quality content is far more effective. This principle also applied to working in projects: focusing on creating meaningful, well-crafted content was more impactful than creating multiple pieces that failed to deliver the client’s message efficiently. High-quality content leaves a strong and lasting impression on the audience.
Learning Comes Alive Through Experience
Internships are the best tools for practicing what you learn in academics. I learned about different aspects of marketing in college, from influencer marketing and search engine optimization to crafting marketing strategies. The Power Move Marketing Internship allowed me to put this knowledge in practice with real-life clients. Since starting the internship, I have had the chance to conduct SEO audits and create content aligned with the marketing strategies of different clients. Learning these skills is valuable during my internship and also helps with my future employment opportunities. By working with real-life clients, your skills and knowledge are sharpened even more, and your confidence grows along the way!
Enjoying Your Work Makes All the Difference!
I know it’s been said again and again that doing what you like is more enjoyable, but it has to be said! I know this perspective can also come from a privileged point of view, but doing what you like really makes all the difference. I choose Marketing as a creative outlet, and so far I find the industry exciting. Every week, I looked forward to the different kinds of tasks I was assigned, and applying my academic knowledge to them was a delight. Every job has its own difficulties and challenges, but doing something you find enjoyable and meaningful makes it worth it.
